The major workload for this update turned out to be the registry. Since the registry number no longer follows the curve of the hull, I had to compute the elevation separately for each point on each character. Not hard, just tedious and time consuming.

Do you use Illustrator? If so, try the envelope distort feature. Draw a box that roughly defines the shape the lettering will fill and then use the "distort with object" command. You should get something pretty close to what you are spending so much time creating.

I don't have Illustrator. I do all this on Corel Draw 12; I bought a second-hand registerable copy some years ago. Right now I can't really afford to purchase anything new, and, given the age of my computer (coming up on 7 years), I'm not sure what she's capable of running. Hell, I'm still figuring out how to work Corel.

It's been a while since I posted anything on this. I got caught up in working with aridas' modular hull concept, and I kind of let this sit on the sidelines. I decided to finally nail down the particulars and post the final images. On a lark, I also decided to post them in two styles. One set is in the colored format I've been using. The new set is done as simple black-and-white lines.

Black-and-white version:

Colored version:

Once again, I'd like to thank everyone for their suggestions. If anyone would like a copy of the actual data files (as opposed to the images) to play around with, just let me know where to send them. They're Corel Draw 12 files, BTW.

Great work you just need a cross-section and the plans would be just about complete :)
Looking forward to seeing more work from you

Had a lot of running around to do for the last couple of days, and when I got home at night I didn't really feel like working on Galahad, so I decided to fool around with FRS-style pages for this old chestnut. As always, these are smaller, low-res versions. If you want better quality ones, just tell me where to send them:
