What are those spikes to port and starboard on the last two versions?

I thought those lights were navigation/running lights, and evidence the bridge could detach as a lifeboat.

Uh guys you do know that the ship already has running lights on the edge of the primary hull... look at how an air craft is set no running on the cockpit.

Why? Because they would be a distraction.

All of these appear in or post-Tribbles. None of them have the pre-Trib dome. There are a couple of shots that didn't appear until later that don't show the bridge, so we can't know. So this means that either they did a bunch of filming on the "Tribbles shoot", or that Tribbles was NOT the last episode filmed. At the moment we have no way of knowing.

Hmmm... Can't QUITE see here...

Very cool analysis. I figured you'd be able to answer better than anyone after compiling all those images a few years ago.
