As I see you're in Greece the U.S.S. Thessaloniki NCC-12543 could be yours. :D

I think that's very fitting since I am from and live in Thessaloniki!!! :D I can't wait to see her... the USS Thessaloniki (NCC-12543) I mean!

But seriously the goal was was to have a hybrid between Enterprise, Excelsior and Ambassador classes. I've also taken ideas from the Ingram, the Alaska and the Renaissance classes. The "JJprise" was another inspiration path. I like the "platipus" concept for transitional evolutionary path in design and technology as Mother Nature does the same with life on Earth.

I would say you hit your target right in the bullseye! I can see elements from all those classes you mentioned but without the Fairfax being some sort of ugly kitbashed design. Quite the opposite she looks quite balanced.

To be honest that was entirely random. I came out two years ago with the design and a starship class list consisting in important cities that are not always capital cities. Indeed that sounds quite funny but I remember I've already experienced a such situation in my life when you're thinking about something or someone that finally happens or comes to you. Kind of Magic! :D

I'm back after nearly two month to present some design improvement on the Fairfax class. Here are the three major versions. The first one I've already shown has been updated.

Fairfax built in 2303:

Fairfax upgraded in 2326:

Lahore built in 2353:

As I explained it at the beginning of this thread these ships are some kind of transitional forms between the TMP era and the TNG era by mixing different known cruisers lineages. Elements from the Enterprise/Levant, Excelsior/Ingram, Alaska, Renaissance, Ambassador/Himalaya and even JJprise were used to create the three ships. The warp nacelles were actually modified Jackill's Stormbringer class engines with U.S.S. Churchill nacelle upper feature also reminiscent to the Ambassador class ones. The W-shaped nacelle pylons configuration is similar to the one found on Masao Okazaki's Avenger destroyer or on the U.S.S. Charleston and give to the Fairfax class a more dynamic profile.

Keep up the good work. I'd like to see your take on the Decker from FASA

Here is a repost from Flickr for all of you who wants to see the Fairfax class again. I know some of you like it so I'm doing this to replace the dead links from Photobucket.
