I just spent some time "grooming" my digital music library and incorporating tracks from the 50th anniversary CD set into my TOS Box. And The Motion Picture and Wrath of Khan. (The 4 CD set has some tracks where they discovered a better source since the 15 CD set. It also has the end of Wrath of Khan without Nimoy's voice over.)

I broke the albums up into episodes (every album has opening and closing titles and the Desilu / Paramount closing) including both original tracks and re-recorded library cues from other seasons.

Then I did my own album covers for all of them. They aren't very fancy but I think I can see them as LP covers. There's a few of these I wouldn't mind having full sized LP's for. Mirror, Mirror and Metamorphosis are two of them. My season three library disc cracks me up. (Get it? Because it's a picture of the... Never mind.)

Still love this set!

(YES, this is what I've been doing instead of the Constellation!)

Damn that is neat. No "Turnabout Intruder"? No new music in that one?

Nope. First off, Turn About was lucky they had sets! But seriously, they were usually out of new music by mid season. City on the Edge of Forever was a notable exception. I suppose I could start making episode covers for my media server... :O

For the first and second seasons there were cues written that weren't for any specific episode. Alexander Courage wrote several for the second season even though he didn't do an episode. One example is the music that plays when Kirk is telling Mirror Spock to take over (also used for E Plebnista). Another is the downer ending of A Private Little War. And of course the Kirk on Fake Andorian action from Journey to Babel. Which is why I used that for the second season library cover.
