I will admit to scratching my head a bit back in '87 that the Bonhomme Richard, the Achernar, and the Enterprise came right on top of each other.

What is really problematic is that there is a long gap between Horizon/Archon and Constitution. I messed with the dates to make it not be such a long gap, but then those ships didn't match up with the dates for the Horizon and Archon in TOS.

And then of course, things stay relatively stable after the Enterprise class comes along. I almost welcomed Excelsior to show technology was still moving.

Almost welcomed. Emphasis on almost. :P

hmm... would you object to a new starship roughly the same size/configuration of Excelsior... but closer to TMP or TOS upgrade in style and details?

Wouldn't that be Todd's Ingram-class?

What would we call it? Achernar-prime? Sub-Enterprise?

They're on your desk waiting to be drawn, John. You've had years to finish them (and learn how to draw them.)

We're waiting.
